This extensive renovation—of what was originally a 1,800 square foot 1930s tract home—salvaged several unique components from a building that would otherwise have been torn down. Walls were removed, views were expanded, a second story was added, and the kitchen became a large central entertaining space. The informal nature of the new floor plan and the detailing of the new work enabled the house to keep the soul of the old structure and become something new and exciting at the same time.
